Located on the hip strip of Abbot Kinney Blvd, Jin Patisserie seems to be the spot for those who want to relax and enjoy their artisan baked goods from cookies to cakes, or for a nice sandwich.  This cafe has its own closed off garden which is also the patio space where you can sit and eat, and so many customers come to enjoy the relaxing atmosphere.  The shop itself is very small, with samples of treats aligned in the glass walls and counters.

There were a dozen different macarons that day, each clearly labeled. $1.30 each.  This is where I learnt my mistake of not having them packed up in a box.  All four macarons I had carefully chosen had collapsed in the pastry bag. Regardless, here is my report.

OVERALL:
  • Delicately thin outer and no air-pockets
  • Inside is very creamy
  • The density is very light
  • Colors are vibrant, yet flavors are veeery delicate

DETAILS:

TEA
Outer is white with metallic turquoise powder.  Filling is sweet milky matcha.

ROSE
Outer is bright red with light pink speckles.  Filling is light baby pink rose flavor.

CHOCOLATE
Outer is light borwn and has tiny cocoa bits on top.  Inside is like chocolate custard ganache.

RASPBERRY
Outer has a very dark purple hue.  Inside is a very light pink raspberry filling.

MY FAVORITES:

Tea and rose :)

CONCLUSION:
The fact that they were too soft to hold themselves was not good.  Flavors themselves were delicate and the fillings were nice and creamy.
