There are several locations from Downtown LA, inside MOCA, to West Hollywood, but the Lemonade I am reporting is by Venice Beach(Lemonade Store #4). It is on the corner of Venice Boulevard and Abbot Kinney Boulevard, which is pretty much the beginning of the "Abbot Kinney"area that all hipsters love. This cafeteria-style cafe not only offers many delicious baked goods from cupcakes to tarts, but also offers pot roasts, sandwiches, and more than a dozen kinds of colorful healthy salads. Grab a tray, and just follow the line!
If anyone has every wished macarons to be a bit bigger, well here is your dream come true: the macarons here are mammoth. They are more or less a dessert that you share between two people, if not amongst three. Each is $4 and is worth trying.
OVERALL:
- 4inches in diameter, 1inch in height
- Flat and dense due to the size of the macaron
- Very crunchy on the outside
- Chewy inside with good amount of ganache
- Bite into it or use an utensil
DETAILS:
LEMON
Nice hard outer crunch. Like lemon squares, it's very lemony and tangy inside. Get nice almond bits at the end.
CONCLUSION:
The massiveness of the macarons of Lemonade makes them truely unique and one of my top 3 macarons of LA.
