In a local plaza on Olympic Boulevard in Beverly Hills lies La Provence Patisserie and Cafe.  There was parking in and under the plaza, so parking was easy.  Many locals come to have their sandwiches, soup, pastries, and cakes.  The interior design is rather cluttered yet very cozy and feels like a cute French country house.  There is another one that opened in Brentwood on San Vicente Boulevard.

Macarons here are double the average for $1.75 each. They are freshly made in the kitchen here; I peaked in and saw it myself!

OVERALL
  • " in diameter, so they're pretty big
  • soft outer shell with a  texture
  • smooth buttery & creamy filling

DETAILS:
CHERRY
Outer has a shade of light plum and is very soft and chewy, with a taste of cherry.  Inside has a hint of cherry, and is light coral pink buttercream.

LAVENDER
A light royal purple exterior has a hint of lavender.  The buttercream inside also has a light lavender flavor with a violet tint.

CARAMEL
Very salty on the outside, and rolled on crumbs.  Inside is oozing real caramel, and very sweet to to come in harmony with the salt.

CONCLUSION:
The size of the macarons here are double the average, but the flavors are surprisingly subtle and simple.
